STOCKHOLM
Stockholm! My favourite of the 3 Scandinavian cities I went to—bright architecture, sunshine (in the summer), and ocean. City of ABBA! A walkabout town centre! What more could a gal want.
To Drink
Caffeinated
Kaffe
A cosy cafe complete with delicious coffee.
To Eat
Meatballs for the People
The most delicous meal of meatballs I’ve ever hat? Scrummy beyond words and I still think of it.
To See & Do
Walking Tour
As always, I recommend a free walking tour. In my opinion, the best way to get to know a city. I usually just Google “free walking tour [city]” and choose the best looking one.
ABBA Museum
The rumours are true! The ABBA Museum is absolutely worth the hype and money. It was on the expensive side (maybe about $40 when I went) but it’s filled with screens highlighting their performances, their costumes, and interactive elements. A bit out of the way but oh so fun (in my humble, ABBA-loving opinion).
The Palace
A beautiful place to look through. We did the changing of the guards, too, which was slightly under-whelming after witnessing the pageantry of the Buckingham Palace Changing of the Guard, but was quite nice. I would recommend not waiting around for it if it doesn’t coincide with your schedule.
Subway Art
By far my highlight was Stockholm was riding the subway to see the subway art—each subway is painted differently. The cavernous stations are painted in bright and beautiful art that is well worth an hour or two of train hopping. We did just take: buying a ticket and just riding different lines and hopping off when some colour caught our eye.
