Katherine Richards was born and raised on Treaty 7 land, in Calgary, Alberta, amongst the Rocky Mountains and golden foothills. She graduated with an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction from Bath Spa University in Bath, England. Her first novel, Nova in New York, was included on the Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s “Best Books for Kids and Teens in 2019” list. She lives in Victoria, British Columbia on the unceded Coast Salish Territory of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples.
