LISBON
Beautiful Portugal! One of my favourite countries I’ve been too (what’s not to like—delicious pastries, port, and terracotta cityscapes). Lisbon had great art, pastries, and was easily walkable. That said, there are LOTS of hills; wear comfortable shoes and don’t forget water (also a great excuse to stop for coffee at all their great cafes).

Come Prima Restaurante Italiano
The BEST food we had—I know it’s Italian in Portugal but we went twice while we were in Lisbon and it was amazing both times. Highly recommend to a friend!
To See & DO
Santa Justa Elevator
You can’t miss it in old town :)
Tram Ride
A classic! Take it to avoid the hills and enjoy the views.
Museu Colecao Berado
20th Century art museum.
FX Factory
An old market filled with shops, restaurants, and art. Go wander! Drink cocktails! See art! Make sure you stop by the bookstore, Ler Devagar.
Walking Tour
As in any city, I recommend a free walking tour (tip at the end, just google “Free Walking Tour Lisbon” to find one). I find the free ones have better guides than the pay-up-front ones.
TO DAY TRIP
Sintra
If you have time, I strongly (strongly strongly!) recommend you go to Sintra for the day. You can wander around the town but the true draw is the STUNNING castle. The grounds are beautiful but make sure you go inside to get the full experience. You can take a train to Sintra and a shuttle from town centre up to the castle if you don’t want to walk from town.
